In short
- The operator of EventVideography.com.my is responsible for the details you send. Contact us through the WhatsApp number on this site.
- We collect what you send us by WhatsApp: the event type, a rough date and the area are enough.
- You can ask to access, correct or withdraw consent for your details at any time.
- The site uses no analytics or advertising cookies at present.
This notice explains how we handle personal data under Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Act 709), as amended by Act A1727 in 2024. It covers what you send us when you enquire and the people who appear in a video we film.
Who is responsible for your details?
The operator of EventVideography.com.my is responsible for the personal data you send us. To reach us about your data, message the WhatsApp number on this site.
What do we collect?
We collect what you choose to send us by WhatsApp: your name and number as WhatsApp shows them, and the event details in your message. A first message needs only the event type, a rough date and the area.
The planning tools keep what you type in your browser and send nothing to us. The site uses no analytics or advertising cookies at present.
Why do we use it?
We use your details to read your request, ask follow-up questions, suggest coverage, prepare a written quote and, if you book, plan and deliver the work. The enquiry page shows your message before you send it, so you can change it.
Payment details, ID numbers, a guest list and private names such as children’s names can wait until the scope is agreed. Our contact page explains what a first message needs.
Who processes your details?
- WhatsApp (Meta) processes the chat and may store it on servers outside Malaysia.
- Our team members working on your event see the details they need to plan and film it.
How long do we keep them?
We keep your details as long as needed for your enquiry, your booking and our record-keeping obligations, then remove them.
What are your rights?
You can ask to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, and to withdraw your consent to our using it. Message us on WhatsApp, say which right you want to use, and for which event if it concerns a video. We go through it with you.
How do we treat the people we film?
Guests at weddings, school events, memorials and community gatherings are not all there by choice, and some have good reasons to stay offline. Footage of guests and children is handled as set out in the agreement with you. Before the day we agree:
- Who is not filmed or shown, for example a child with a custody concern or a guest who asked for privacy.
- Which version goes where. A private family copy and a public post can be different edits. The private and public version planner helps you decide.
- Who approves publication, so a clip is posted only after the right person agrees.
Our guide to permissions, privacy and responsible publication goes further, and the filming and publication responsibilities checklist lists who is responsible for what.
