In short
- Every suggestion comes with the reason it appeared, and you can remove or add videos.
- A complete record always keeps a continuous recording, not only a short highlight.
- Screens inside the venue do not automatically mean an internet livestream.
- Livestream, venue feed and raw handover are available on request, confirmed for each event.
This tool suggests which kinds of event video fit your answers, and explains each suggestion in plain words. It uses fixed rules, so the same answers always give the same shortlist.
How to use it
- Tick who will watch, from people who attend to the public, sponsors or management.
- Tick the moments you must record, such as speeches, a ceremony, award presentations or interviews.
- Say whether you want a complete record, a selected story or both. If every word matters, tick that too.
- Choose private or public use, whether you want a live picture on screens inside the venue, and whether anyone will watch from elsewhere.
- Tick any later reuse, such as posting online, promoting the next event, training or an archive.
How to read the result
Each card is one video. It says what the video is and why it appeared, and a label marks videos we would confirm for your date. Untick “Keep in my list” to remove one, or add something we did not suggest.
Below the cards you will find three short lists.
- Assumptions we did not make: for example, no livestream because the screens are only inside the venue.
- Samples to inspect: what to ask a videographer to show you.
- Questions to add to your brief: the details to settle for the videos you kept.
Assumptions and limits
- The rules are a planning aid. They do not give advice on price, crew or availability.
- A complete record cannot come back as only a short highlight. If you remove the continuous recording after asking for one, the tool warns you.
- If you leave a question unanswered, nothing is assumed. The tool adds it to the questions instead.
A worked example
For example, a family holds a wedding ceremony and wants a complete record because the vows matter. Relatives abroad will watch the recording later. The shortlist shows a continuous recording and a highlight film for those relatives, and no livestream because nobody watches live.
If the same family says the relatives will watch in real time, a livestream appears marked to discuss, with questions about the platform and the venue internet. This is an illustration, not a real client.
When to message us
Send the shortlist when you want help deciding between two similar options, or when you need to explain the choice to a committee or family. Our guide to highlight films, full recordings and raw footage explains the difference in more depth. You can write each chosen video into the deliverables matrix, and the guide on choosing between a live feed, a livestream and a recording helps with the live questions. Our full ceremony and speech recording service is one place to start.
If the shortlist leaves you with questions, send it to us. We can talk through which videos fit your event and confirm what is possible for your date.
