Coverage and packages

Defining what your video coverage includes

A package name rarely says exactly what you get, so the details are worth writing down.

Share your date and area, and we will suggest coverage and confirm what is possible.

In short

  • Words like half-day, multi-camera or highlights do not define themselves, so write down what each one means.
  • Add-ons such as livestream, same-day screening or interviews change the crew and the schedule.
  • A short event can still need long setup time.
  • Record what is excluded as clearly as what is included.

Two quotes that both say “full-day coverage” can mean very different things. This guide helps you turn a package name into a clear list: what is filmed, for how long, by how many people and what you receive.

What a coverage definition should state

Before comparing anything, write down these points:

  1. Start and finish times, including setup, breaks and travel between venues.
  2. Crew and cameras: how many operators, and whether they film separate angles.
  3. Videos you receive: highlights, full recordings, short clips, or raw files.
  4. Add-ons: livestream, same-day screening, interviews, vertical clips.
  5. Exclusions: what is not part of the booking.

The Videography booking scope checklist and Write a video deliverables sheet a supplier can price turn this into a form you can send to any supplier.

Choosing the basic shape

Start with duration and cameras. Half-day and full-day packages explains what to check beyond the name. For cameras, read single-camera coverage and what multi-camera recording includes. If setup is long, see booking a short event with an unusually long setup.

Adding things to a booking

Each add-on needs its own planning:

Splitting filming and editing

You may want only part of the work. Crew-only filming needs agreed file formats and handoff. Editing-only services depend on the quality and permissions of your existing footage. For weddings across several places, see wedding preparation and reception coverage across venues.

Write down what is left out

The most useful sentence in a booking is often a “no”. Our guide on agreeing what a package excludes shows how. Our event videography service explains how we quote.

Send us the date, venue and the videos you have in mind. We will write a quote that lists the hours, crew and outputs, so you can see exactly what is included.

Questions people ask

Do you sell fixed packages?
We quote each event from its scope: date, area, hours, crew and the videos you choose. That keeps the quote matched to your event, and it lists what is included and what is not.
What should a quote say about exclusions?
It should name moments, videos and tasks that are not covered, for example footage outside the agreed hours or a second edit. Writing these down early prevents surprises later. Our guide on exclusions shows how.
Can I change the coverage after booking?
Changes are possible, but they affect crew and schedule, so they are agreed in writing first. The earlier you tell us, the easier it is to confirm what we can add for your date.
