In short
- Event coverage records the launch day: the people, the programme and the atmosphere.
- It is not a property film, a virtual tour or a replacement for them, unless that is separately agreed.
- Anything shown or said about the property should be checked by the developer before it is published.
- Write down in the brief which outputs are included and which are not.
Event coverage of a property launch records the launch day itself: who came, what was said and how the space was used. It does not replace a property film or a virtual tour, and the brief should say so in plain words.
Getting this right protects you from a common mismatch. The marketing team expects a film that sells the units, while the event crew delivers a film of the event. Our product launch event videography page describes the general launch offer. This guide covers what is particular to property.
What event coverage includes, and what it does not
| Included in event coverage | Not included unless agreed separately |
|---|---|
| Arrival, registration and guests entering | A unit-by-unit walkthrough |
| Speeches by the developer, guests of honour and partners | A property film or brand film |
| The sales gallery, model and display areas as part of the day | A virtual tour or 3D presentation |
| The ribbon-cutting, unveiling or launch moment | Aerial views of the site (see Drone shots below) |
| Atmosphere, crowd moments and short interviews | Photography of the units for brochures |
If you want items from the right-hand column, ask for them as separate work.
Property claims on screen and in speeches
A property launch is full of statements: unit sizes, completion plans, facilities, location benefits. Event video records them as they are said or shown, and then they stay online.
- Check before publishing. The developer or its compliance team should review the edit for statements about the property.
- Check what appears on screens. Slides, renderings and price boards in the background may be captured. Tell us if some should not be shown.
- Agree who removes or corrects. If a speaker misstates something, decide beforehand whether the cut can leave it out.
- Do not imply more than the film shows. A film of a model and a crowd does not show the building. A title or caption should not suggest it does.
We record the event, and you decide what is right to publish.
Planning the day
- Who is speaking and when. Give us the run sheet, even a rough one. Our run-sheet filming planner helps turn it into a filming plan.
- Where guests will be. The sales gallery, model area and any show unit visits shape camera positions. Ask the venue or gallery team about filming rules.
- Which moments matter most. Unveiling, signing of partners, first visitors, the model reveal.
- What the film is for. Internal record, press, social media, or the developer’s website. This changes the edit.
- Sound. Speeches in a sales gallery can echo or compete with music. Ask us about connecting to the gallery’s microphones.
A short worked example
This is an illustration only. Imagine a launch at a sales gallery with a speech, a ribbon moment and visitors viewing the model for two hours.
- The brief lists three outputs: a short highlight film of the launch, full recording of the main speech, and three social clips.
- It states that the model and gallery appear as part of the event and that no unit walkthrough or virtual tour is included.
- The developer’s marketing lead reviews the highlight film for property statements before it is published.
- Entrance signage tells visitors that filming is taking place.
The plan is simple, and everyone works from the same scope before the day.
Drone shots
An aerial shot of the site can look natural for a property launch, but drone use needs approval first. For standard applications, the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) asks for the application at least 14 working days before the activity, with extra authorisation in Sabah and Sarawak. For a drone request we also plan ground shots. See our guide to drone coverage as a conditional event option.
What we confirm for your event
Tell us the venue and date, and we confirm the crew and travel. We also settle these points with you:
- What exactly is in the outputs, and what is not.
- Who reviews the edit for property statements, and how many review rounds the quote covers.
- How visitors are told that filming is taking place, and how we work around the sales team without interrupting viewings.
- How a unit walkthrough would be briefed separately, if you want one later.
The event video brief builder helps you write the scope, including the outputs you do not want. For a legal question about your launch, ask a qualified adviser.
If you know the launch date, the venue or sales gallery and the main programme, send them to us. We can suggest what the event coverage should include and say plainly what it does not.
