Tampin

Filming an event near the Tampin border

Your Tampin event sits near two borders, so the route matters as much as the hall.

Share your date and area, and we will suggest coverage and confirm what is possible.

In short

  • Tampin district meets Melaka to the south and Johor near Gemas.
  • Write the town and state for every venue, since a hall called Tampin may be across the line.
  • Count the drive between states as part of the schedule.

Tampin sits at the southern edge of Negeri Sembilan. If your event touches Melaka or Johor, the route matters as much as the venue, so we plan it with you before confirming a crew.

Where does the district meet its neighbours?

Tampin District borders Jasin and Alor Gajah in Melaka, and Tangkak and Segamat in Johor. Rembau and Kuala Pilah lie to the west and northwest, and Jempol to the north. Gemas, one of its seven mukims, is the part nearest Johor.

The district also holds traditional territories, called luak. The Tampin territory is led by the Tunku Besar of Tampin, so families may name their luak rather than a town. Ask which name to put on the address.

What changes when an event sits near a border?

The venue’s state may not be obvious. A hall that people call “Tampin” may be on the Melaka side. Give us the exact address, town and state for every stop.

Guests and the route can cross state lines. A wedding may have a ceremony in one state and a reception in another, and the drive between them counts in the plan. KTM Komuter trains run to Pulau Sebang-Tampin, which suits guests from Seremban and the Klang Valley. The run-sheet filming planner helps you place each stop in time.

More than one local authority can be involved. For a public place, ask the office for the side of the line you are on, and send us the answer.

Checklist for an event here

  1. List each venue with town and state.
  2. Write the expected time at each, and the gap between them.
  3. Ask each venue about filming, parking and power.
  4. Decide which moments are must-capture, using the must-capture moments checklist.
  5. Plan for rain if any part is outdoors, with the weather and venue-change filming plan.

A cross-state family event: one more step

A cross-state event often means two families in different states, or relatives travelling from Melaka and Johor. Tell us which side is hosting and which parts need guests to arrive early, and we order the filming around that.

How does an enquiry for Tampin work?

Message us the date, the venues and the order, and we confirm the crew and the travel. An enquiry does not reserve a date. If a stop is in Melaka or Johor, our Melaka page and Johor page add regional context, and the Negeri Sembilan page covers the state. For a day that moves between stops, see Rembau.

Send us the date, each venue with its town and state, and the order of the day, and we confirm the crew and travel.

Questions people ask

Is Tampin in Negeri Sembilan or Melaka?
Tampin District is in Negeri Sembilan. The railway station called Pulau Sebang-Tampin is at the border, and Pulau Sebang itself is in Melaka. Give the town and state with each address so we plan the right route.
Can you film one event across two states?
Often yes. Send the venues in order with times. We check the route and hours and confirm whether one crew can cover it. If two stops overlap, we tell you whether a second camera operator is needed.
Do you cover Gemas as well?
Gemas is one of Tampin district's mukims, near the Johor side. Tell us the venue and date, and we confirm the crew and what travel is involved.
Which office do I ask about a public place?
Ask the council for the side of the line the place is on. Tell us the answer, and we plan the shots around it.
