In short
- Johor events fall into city, airport and industrial, resort coast and inland district settings.
- Guests and suppliers from Singapore arrive by the Causeway or the Second Link, so arrival time is a planning point.
- The northeast monsoon brings heavy rain to many districts, so every outdoor plan needs a wet backup.
- Coverage hours should include travel and setup, not only the programme.
Event videography in Johor depends on the setting more than the state: a hotel hall in the city, a campus, an airport-side company event, a beach resort and a family day across two inland towns each ask for a different plan. Find your setting below, then open its page.
Which Johor setting is your event in?
| Setting | Typical events | Key question | Place page |
|---|---|---|---|
| City on the Singapore border | Company events, weddings, family gatherings with guests from Singapore | When do guests from across the border arrive? | Johor Bahru |
| Campuses, government and waterfront | Graduations, government functions, theme-park and harbour events | How early may the crew enter the hall? | Iskandar Puteri |
| Airport and industrial district | Staff and training events, guests flying in | Which flight sets the crew call? | Kulai |
| Resort coast | Destination weddings, retreats, group celebrations | What are the resort’s supplier rules and wet backup? | Desaru |
| Western inland district | Family, temple and community days with several stops | How far apart are the stops? | Batu Pahat |
| Central inland district | District weddings, school and association events | When does the venue open, and when will it finish? | Kluang |
What is different about filming in Johor?
Johor is the state next to Singapore, and the two land crossings are the Causeway at Johor Bahru and the Second Link from Tanjung Kupang to Tuas. Guests, family and suppliers often come across on the day, so ask them when they expect to arrive and leave room before the first key moment.
The northeast monsoon is the other state-wide point. It brings heavier rain and wind from about mid-October to January, and the Johor Fire and Rescue Department listed flood-prone areas in Batu Pahat, Kluang, Kulai and Kota Tinggi districts ahead of the 2025 season. Ask your venue where the covered backup is and who decides to move.
Distances inside the state vary too. A city event may keep the hotel, venue and reception close together, while an inland or coastal day may not. Our guide on filming across a city and its surrounding districts explains how to order such a day.
What do we confirm for your event?
Tell us the venue and date, and we confirm the crew and travel.
- The town and exact venue, and whether it is one venue or several.
- Programme times, and which moments must be recorded in full.
- Whether guests are arriving from Singapore, and when.
- Loading access, power and the sound feed. Our questions for the venue cover these.
- Whether you want a drone, which needs approval first. See planning lead time for a drone application.
- The rain plan.
For Johor, the quote moves with the distance between stops, an early entry and any overnight stay. The pricing page explains how a quote is built, and the outstation filming budget worksheet lists the travel items.
Near the Johor border
Events on the northern side of the state can sit close to Melaka, Negeri Sembilan or Pahang, so say which side of the line the venue is on. Write your needs in an event video brief before you message us about your event videography. An enquiry does not reserve a date.
Message us the town, venue, date and programme, and we will go through the Johor questions above with you.
