In short
- Kuala Nerus has been its own district since 2014. Many people still say Kuala Terengganu for the whole area.
- Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, UniSZA and Sultan Mahmud Airport are in the district.
- Campus, hotel and family events often run over several sessions or places.
- Count the locations first. Crew and hours follow from that.
Kuala Nerus is a district just outside Kuala Terengganu city. The planning question here is not the name on the map but how many places and sessions your event covers.
What is in Kuala Nerus?
The district was split from Kuala Terengganu in 2014. Its places include Gong Badak, Seberang Takir and Batu Rakit. Two universities are here: Universiti Malaysia Terengganu and the main campus of UniSZA, which also has a teaching hospital. The Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium, home of Terengganu FA, sits in the Gong Badak sports complex, and Sultan Mahmud Airport serves the area.
When you write to us or to a venue, use the actual address so the crew goes to the right place. For events in the city itself, see Kuala Terengganu.
Which events are common here?
- Campus events: orientation, graduation-season programmes, research days and alumni gatherings.
- Hotel events: dinners, seminars and wedding receptions.
- Family events: akad nikah at home or a mosque, followed by a reception elsewhere.
For campus ceremonies, see university convocation videography. For wedding days, see wedding videography.
Does your event span several locations or sessions?
This is the check that matters most. Write your schedule as a list:
- Each session, with start and end time.
- The place for each session.
- The gap between sessions.
Then ask three things. Can one crew finish one session, move and set up for the next? Do any sessions overlap? Does any session need the full ceremony recorded, not just highlights?
If one crew can move between sessions and none overlap, one crew may be enough. Overlapping sessions usually need more people. Our guide to planning camera coverage around the run sheet shows how to read the schedule this way.
What about Redang?
Redang is listed under Kuala Nerus, but an event there depends on boats, resort rules and the monsoon calendar. Read our Redang page for that plan.
Planning checklist
- Exact address of each venue, not just the district.
- Who can open doors and give power access.
- Sound: whether we can take a feed from the PA. See why clear audio matters.
- Outdoor parts: an indoor alternative if it rains.
- Which sessions need a full recording and which need a highlight film only.
