Genting Highlands is a hill resort area, and its events are mostly indoor: conferences, annual dinners and weddings in large halls. The first job is to find out which hall, which hotel and which events team.
Which venues host events at Genting?
The resort’s own pages describe three kinds of space:
- Genting International Convention Centre at Resorts World Genting: up to 18 combinable meeting rooms, and a Grand Ballroom of four halls that the resort lists at up to 3,500 people.
- Resorts World Awana: 16 function rooms, Dewan Wawasan 1 to 4 for up to 500 people, and The Great Lawn for outdoor weddings.
- Theme-park and other spaces used for team days and pre-wedding shoots.
We name these only as places to ask. A convention hall and a hotel function room are different jobs. Read filming in a convention centre with multiple halls, and for a conference, conference and convention videography.
How do crew and equipment reach the hall?
Each venue has its own loading rules. Ask the events team:
- Which loading route and time slot do outside crews use?
- Where may cameras stand, and what notice does commercial filming need?
- Is there a separate audio feed from the hall, and who runs it?
- Can the crew stay on site for an early or late job?

What about the road and the weather?
From the Klang Valley, the usual drive up is the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway. A widening project is under way, including a third tunnel at Genting Sempah, with completion expected by 2030. Allow a buffer on event day.

Which state is my venue in?
The main resorts list Pahang addresses. Other Genting-branded venues may not, so ask each for its postal address and local authority. For the district next door, see Bentong, and for the Selangor side, Selangor.
