In short
- Selangor has nine districts, and town names often cross district lines.
- Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya are federal territories, not part of Selangor.
- The venue address decides the council, the contacts and the setup.
- Settings range from campuses and convention halls to coast, hills and port.
Selangor surrounds Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, so the most useful thing you can give us is an exact venue address. It decides the district, the council and often the setup.
What kinds of events and settings does Selangor have?
Visit Selangor lists nine districts: Petaling, Gombak, Klang, Sepang, Kuala Selangor, Sabak Bernam, Hulu Selangor, Kuala Langat and Hulu Langat.

What changes the plan in Selangor?
Is it really Selangor? Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya are federal territories. Malaysia has 13 states and 3 federal territories. See Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya for those, and Negeri Sembilan to the south. Hulu Selangor is the gateway to Fraser’s Hill in Pahang.
Several venues in one day. Many Selangor events move between a home, a hall and a hotel. Our guide to planning coverage across nearby venues shows how to list each stop.
Getting equipment in. City halls and hotels usually have a loading bay. Coastal and paddy-field venues in Kuala Selangor and Sabak Bernam, and hill venues in Hulu Selangor, may reach their site by narrower roads, so ask the host where a vehicle can park and how far kit must be carried.
Weather. Afternoon rain is common in the Klang Valley, so outdoor events need a wet-weather option and sound cover.
Venue support. Halls and hotels may have their own sound, screens and streaming. Our venue questions guide has wording to use.
Tight deadlines. A same-day edit needs space, power and time on site, so tell us early when the film must be shown.
What should you settle before booking?
- The exact address, hall or room, and the programme.
- Who approves filming at the venue.
- One crew or coverage in more than one place at once.
- The films you want, from highlight to full recording.
The coverage brief builder helps you write this down, and the outstation budget worksheet helps with travel. Our core offer is event videography across Malaysia.
Send us the exact venue address, the date and what you want filmed, and we confirm the crew and travel for Selangor.
